Welcome to Hilltop Retreatâs Water Lounge, one of the most loved spaces on the property. Our indoor pool and hot tub area is designed for relaxation, wellness, and memorable moments yearâround. To preserve the quality of the water, protect the space, and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests to come, the following rules must be respected at all times. These guidelines are not optional. They are in place to protect the facility, prevent damage, and maintain a hygienic, highâquality environment for everyone.
A Shared Luxury Space
The pool, hot tub, and surrounding Water Lounge are premium amenities. Improper use can quickly lead to water/tub contamination, equipment damage, and costly closures. Please treat this space with care and intention, as you would that of your own, or a private spa or wellness facility. Failure to follow these rules may result in:
Loss of security deposit, in addition to:
Additional cleaning, service, or replacement fees
Cost of loss/compensation for duration of Water Lounge closure
đż Shower Before Entering Waters (Mandatory)
All guests must shower before entering the pool or hot tub. This is nonânegotiable.
Why this matters:
Skincare products, makeup, lotions, oils, hair products, deodorant, and perfumes contaminate the water
Residue breaks down water chemistry and filtration systems
Contaminants can cause cloudiness, strong chemical smells, and premature pool closures
A quick rinse makes a massive difference. Please ensure everyone showers, including children, every single time before entering the water. Do not pee (or poop) in the waters.
đ¨âđŠâđ§ Children & Supervision
Children must:
Be supervised by a (responsible) adult at all times
Follow all showering and hygiene rules
Respect pool safety and posted guidelines
Running, rough play, or unsafe behaviour is not permitted.
𼤠No Food or Drinks in the Waters
Food and drinks are not permitted:
In the pool
In the hot tub
This includes:
Snacks
Alcohol
Coffee, tea, juice, or water bottles
Approved Areas for Drinks & Light Use
Weâve provided designated spaces nearby for safe enjoyment:
The bar
Single bar table
4âseater round table
Only nonâbreakable cups or packaging may be used in these areas. Glass, ceramic, or fragile containers are never permitted near the water. Please ensure that you remove at food/drink or packaging when you leave.
Please allow time to digest before swimming. Entering the pool or hot tub immediately after eating can cause discomfort, cramping, and increases the risk of injury.
Alcohol consumption and swimming do not mix. Guests should not enter the pool or hot tub while intoxicated, as alcohol impairs judgment, balance, and reaction time, creating serious safety risks.
đŞ Doors Must Remain Closed
All doors to the Water Lounge must remain closed at all times
This is essential for:
Temperature regulation
Humidity control
Preventing moisture damage throughout the home
Exterior Door Notice
There is a door within the Water Lounge that leads outside.
â ď¸ This door is NOT intended for guest use and must remain closed and locked at all times.
Please do not open or operate this door under any circumstances.
đž No Pets in the Water Lounge
Pets are strictly prohibited from:
The pool
The hot tub
This rule exists for:
Hygiene and water safety
Allergy considerations for future guests
Protection of equipment and surfaces
Please consider using pet leashes, crates, or barriers where necessary.
Other things to note:
Lights for the water lounge is located between the entrance doors. Additional lights for the hut tub area is located near the hot tub.
Ventilation & Fans:Â Fans are provided in the Water Lounge to help manage humidity, particularly during warmer months. Guests may turn fans on or off as needed for comfort. Please ensure all fans are turned off when the Water Lounge is not in use.
Phone Use:Â For safety and courtesy, phone use should be kept to a minimum in the Water Lounge. Phones must be kept dry and away from the pool and hot tub edges. Photography or video recording of others without consent is not permitted.
There is a bin of balls, toys, and floaties that you may use responsibly. There is no pump for anything deflated. If anything is broken or damaged, please let us know.
Guests should avoid swimming alone. Anyone feeling lightheaded, overheated, or unwell must exit the water immediately. Use of the pool and hot tub is at your own discretion, particularly for guests with medical conditions.
Hair treatments, deep conditioners, oils, self-tanner, and heavy skincare products must be fully rinsed off before entering the water.
Proper swimwear is required. Street clothing, underwear, denim, or heavily dyed garments are not permitted in the pool or hot tub. Upper-Level Balcony Safety:Â The upper-level balcony overlooking the Water Lounge is for viewing and light seating only. No leaning, climbing, sitting on railings, or throwing objects from the balcony is permitted. Children must be supervised at all times when the balcony is in use.
Quiet hours apply in the Water Lounge, especially during evening and nighttime use. Please me mindful of loud music, shouting, or disruptive behaviour.
Please dry off thoroughly before exiting the Water Lounge.
Pool & Temperature
The indoor pool is maintained at approximately 86°F (30°C), which is a standard, comfortable temperature for indoor swimming and family use. It is intentionally cooler than the hot tub. Although 30°C may sound warm, this is a standard indoor pool temperature. Water transfers heat differently than air, making this temperature ideal for swimming and lounging without overheating.
No diving permitted. The pool has a maximum depth of 6 feet. Diving in shallow water can result in serious injury. Please enter the pool feet-first at all times.
There's a scoop to fish out anything that needs to be removed from the pool.
Pool Cover Use:Â The pool cover operates by winding it up and unwinding it using the roller. To open, gently wind the cover until it is fully rolled and clear of the water. To close, unwind the cover evenly until all water surfaces are fully covered. Do not force, drag, or leave the cover partially covering the pool, as full coverage is required for effectiveness.
Hot Tub & Temperature
The hot tub is pre-set and professionally maintained at a safe, comfortable soaking temperature.
While temperature controls are visible on the unit, guests are asked to avoid adjusting the settings. If adjustments are made, the temperature must remain within a safe range and the hot tub must be returned to its original setting after use. Improper temperature changes may result in additional service or reset fees.
The hot tub is a 4-seat, climb-in unit. It does NOT need to be turned off.
Hot tub sessions are recommended to be limited to 10â20 minutes at a time, with breaks to cool down between uses.
Hot Tub Cover Use:Â The hot tub cover is secured at the corners with clips. If clipped, gently unclip all 4 corners, then, while standing in front of the tub (facing the outdoor wall), lift the left side cover over the black bar, and lift to your right once more to align the resting bar and cover hanging over. To close, reverse opening steps to return the cover to its original position and re-clip if desired. Do not drag, force, or leave the cover partially open.
𧚠Pool Care & Debris Removal
A pool skimmer/scoop is provided for guest use.
If any items, debris, or foreign objects enter the pool, please use the scoop to remove them promptly, if you're unable to reach them on your own
Do not use hands, towels, or other objects to retrieve items from filters
If an item cannot be safely removed, please notify management asap.
Prompt removal helps maintain water clarity, filtration performance, and overall hygiene.
⥠Electrical devices pose a serious safety risk around water. In the event a phone or other electrical item enters the pool or hot tub, all guests must exit the water immediately and inform management before any retrieval is attempted.
